Topiary art

Hedges, borders, and green barriers not only have an aesthetic function but are also a useful and functional element to delimit a property; for defensive purposes; to mask unattractive elements; to flank roads and pathways, to circumscribe flower beds; to protect from dust, winds, and noise. The plants that are suitable for this purpose are not a separate category but are shrubs, conifers, and trees that possess these requirements: they can withstand even drastic pruning; they have dense branches regularly arranged from the base to the apex, branches that persist to form a continuous, uniform, and compact wall.
